We spend a great deal of time - and rightly so - clarifying our goals and honing the processes to achieve them. At the end of the day, however, it’s people who make things happen.
For many years I focused the bulk of my attention on goals and processes, but in more recent times, have moved more of it to people - see Ann’s Story
I find it is vital to understand the ways in which people differ and have found especially useful some of the ideas rooted in Jung’s theory of psychological type. As an MBTI® (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator)* practitioner I have made extensive use of them in team and organisational development work. As a meetings professional, I have become increasingly aware of the usefulness of type theory, both in maximising learning and networking at events and of how events provide a wonderful arena for observing people and learning about type differences.
Building on my interpretation of what I have found most useful, I set about creating a type assessment system which could be used simply, efficiently and cost effectively at events - Rainbow-Plus is the result.
